In May 2018, the Junior League of Santa Barbara (JLSB), in partnership with 4 Kids 2 Kids, Inc. opened S.A.F.E. House Santa Barbara (Saving A t-risk Youth From Exploitation), the county’s first therapeutic rehabilitative shelter for children who are survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.
The shelter, a six-bed Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP), is designed to meet the very specific needs of girls who have been sexually exploited and/or trafficked. Beginning May 31, 2018 S.A.F.E. House Santa Barbara began accepting survivors for placement. With only a handful of beds in all of California dedicated solely to young female survivors, opening this six-bed home has made a significant impact.
Your tax-deductible donation supports S.A.F.E. House Santa Barbara and the continued programming that allows our trained volunteers to continue to have a positive impact in the lives of these young girls and our community.
